about

It's easy to get defensive about our beliefs. Our brains treat an attack on our identity the same as a physical attack, so it's unavoidable that sometimes we're going to dig in and fight when we're being challenged.

But despite all that, the way to "evolve" as people is to sometimes take a step back, let ourselves cool down, and say, "I was wrong". It's VERY hard to do, but it's how you level up.

Everyone is wrong sometimes. We're all flawed. We're all learning. Next time you feel that anger and fear about being challenged, try to notice what's happening, and then try to see the other person's point of view. Any time you "lose", that's an opportunity to learn. You're either winning, or you're learning. And if you're learning, you're winning.

lyrics

I see the look in your eyes, you came here to fight
Rolling in with the storm, it could be clouding your sight
I don’t know you, big cat, but you’re part of my pride
Cling to what we believe like we’re saving a life
Well, there’s a better way
We're the solution
It’s evolution
Every mistake can be a win if we learn

I know it’s hard to say you were wrong
That won’t make you weak, it makes you strong

Other kittens might be left in the dust
Because they aren’t as tough
Intimidated to change and grow up
Be the king who tries to prove yourself wrong
Don’t believe what you first see, question all your religions from now on
You're the solution
It’s evolution
Every mistake can be a win if you learn

I know it’s hard to say you were wrong
That won’t make you weak, it makes you strong
That won’t make you weak, it makes you strong

We all know
We gotta fight for what we believe
But where’s the line?
Nobody can do everything right
You will be loved
Yeah it's okay if sometimes you don't win
You can’t believe the things you are shouting
You’re so afraid of losing yourself

I know it’s hard to say you were wrong
That won’t make you weak, it makes you strong
I know it’s hard to say you were wrong
That won’t make you weak, it makes you strong

about

Molehill Chicago, Illinois

“Do not be fooled by the name. Chicago’s Molehill is more like a mountain constructed with big guitars, melodic keyboards, and pounding drums. Combining elements of progressive rock with pop sensibilities along with expansive and emotionally charged lyrics, this band delivers a symphonic listening experience.

–Jesse Menendez, Vocalo and WBEZ, 89.5FM and 91.5FM Chicago
